  • 2 pounds of russet potatoes, thinly sliced

  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the dish)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.

  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme. Heat over medium heat until just simmering.

  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, and sprinkle with half of the Parmesan cheese.

  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and Parmesan cheese.

  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.

  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.

  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.
